At 7:10 PM on 11 June 2024 MDT, an AuroraWatch red alert was issued. This alert was in effect until 7:00 AM on 12 June 2024 MDT, indicating there was a very good chance (>~70%) of Auroral activity. The weather conditions were reported as Thunderstorm with light rainshowers at the Edmonton Airport at the time of the alert.
